Welcome to WX4XW.com

Hello and welcome to my hampage. It all started as a child, but the Citizen’s Band (CB) is as far as I went. I’ve been a Ham Radio Operator since October 23, 2009. I took my Amateur Radio Exam and passed the “Technician” and “General” at the Gray Hamfest. Exactly two years later at the Gray Hamfest I received my “Amateur Extra”. I am now studying for my doctorate degree in Amateur Radio Operation.

I am interested in just plain ole Hamming it up!!! I spend most of my radio time on DMR. I usually hang out on the 3147 TN Statewide Talkgroup. My DMR ID is 3147368. You can also find me on FM simplex on 146.520. When I am HF I tend to visit 60 meters on 5.371.50. I also play with FT8 on HF. I will love to work you down the log.

I am crazy about weather. I am a Certified Storm Spotter ID #4790 through the National Weather Service office of Morristown, Tennessee. I am trained by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in command communications. I am certified in Response and Incident Command Communications, ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-00700.a, and IS-00800.b. I am also a Volunteer Examiner through the ARRL VEC, W5YI-VEC, and Western Carolina VEC (WCARS).

I would like to take a moment and thank Jonathan (KC8CPW) for pushing me to get my ticket.
